Dr. Deb A. Bhowmick is a neurosurgeon specializing in complex spinal surgery. He is an Associate Professor with tenure at Duke University in Durham, NC. Dr. Bhowmick previously was Chief of Spinal Pathology in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed a neurosurgical residency at the University of Pennsylvania and a fellowship in spinal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. His clinical interests include treatment of spinal tumors, spinal trauma, rheumatologic diseases of the spine, complex spinal deformities, and minimally invasive treatment of spinal degenerative conditions. Dr. Bhowmick specializes in the endoscopic treatment of basilar invagination and other disorders of the craniocervical junction. His research efforts concentrate on the epidemiology and comparative effectiveness of various treatments of spine fractures in the elderly.
