Dr. Stephen Pirris, MD, FAANS is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at Mayo Clinic Florida. He completed his medical school at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, PA. He stayed in Pittsburgh to complete his neurological surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Pirris serves on the Executive Committee with the Southern Neurosurgery Society as the Past President; the co-chair of the Robotics, Enabling Technologies and Minimally Invasive Section of the North American Spine Society; the Board of Directors with the Florida Neurosurgery Society as a former President; Delegate for the state of Florida to the Council of State Neurosurgical Societies; Board member for the Neurosurgery PAC; and the Board of Directors for the Neurosurgery Outreach Foundation that provides outreach missions as well as education and mentoring for underserved areas around the world.
