Maliya Delawan, MBBS, is a neurosurgical research fellow at the University of Chicago. She completed her medical degree with honors at Gulf Medical University in the United Arab Emirates and is currently engaged in outcomes-based neurosurgical research, with a particular focus on spine surgery, registry-based analyses, and healthcare disparities. Her research experience spans large national databases, biomechanical studies, and neuroinformatics, and she has contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications, book chapters, and national conference presentations. Her academic interests include spine outcomes research, neuro-oncology, and the application of data science and artificial intelligence to improve neurosurgical care.
