Dr. Tariq Parker is a 5th year neurosurgery resident at Massachusetts General Hospital with a focus on spinal cord injury, neuromodulation, and the emerging field of functional spine surgery. After completing medical school in his home island of Jamaica, he attended Oxford University as a Rhodes Scholar, completing an MSc in Neuroscience and a DPhil in Surgical Science with a focus on the neurophysiology of chronic pain. After completing residency and spine fellowship at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, he envisions a practice which integrates bioelectronic medicine, spinal neuroengineering, and regenerative strategies to restore function after spinal injury, while also maintaining active interests in global surgery and medical education.
