Dr. Zachary A. Smith is a Professor of Neurological Surgery at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine and Department of Neurological Surgery.
He serves as Executive Vice Chair in the Department and the Director of Spine Surgery and the Spine Fellowship Director. He is the Co-Director of the OU Neuroscience Graduate Program. Dr. Smith is a graduate of Dartmouth College and obtained his medical degree at UCLA. He did his neurosurgery training at UCLA and fellowship at Northwestern University under Richard Fessler. He runs a NIH funded laboratory that studies cervical myelopathy and cervical spinal injury. He currently is a standing study section member with the NIH/NINDS.
