Jay Kumar is a neurosurgery fellow in minimally invasive and complex spine surgery at the University of California-San Francisco under Dr. Praveen Mummaneni and Dr. Lee Tan. Originally from Oklahoma City, he obtained his MD at Harvard Medical School and his MBA at Harvard Business School, graduating with honors from both. He completed his neurosurgery residency at the University of South Florida and also underwent a spine fellowship at the San Diego Spine Foundation, directed by Dr. Gregory Mundis and Dr. Robert Eastlack. His clinical interests include spinal deformity, minimally invasive spine surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, and spinal tumors.
