Kelley Banagan, MD, FAOa, FAAOS is an Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon and Associate Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina.
She specializes in surgery for adult
and pediatric patients with a broad range of spine-related conditions including
scoliosis, spinal deformity, spinal stenosis, spinal tumors, and traumatic injury.
Dr. Banagan earned her medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical
University and completed her residency in Orthopedic Surgery at the
University of Maryland Medical Center. Her fellowship in Orthopedic Spine
Surgery was conducted at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.
She comes to MUSC having previously worked at Albany Medical Center and
the University of Maryland Medical Center. She has served as an Associate
Professor, Associate Program Director in the Department of Orthopaedics,
and the Clerkship Coordinator for the medical students. She was also the
Spine Fellowship Education Coordinator at the nationally recognized R Adams
Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore.
She will serve as a board examiner for the American Board of Orthopaedic
Surgery, is a member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee for the
Scoliosis Research Society, and a member of several other national
organizations. She has an interest in research and has also served as a
faculty mentor to countless medical students and residents. She cuurently serves as
the Associate Program Director, and the Spine Fellowship Director at MUSC.
