David Satzer is a functional neurosurgeon and assistant professor at the University of Chicago. He completed residency at the University of Chicago and fellowship at the University of Colorado. His clinical interests include the surgical management of epilepsy, movement disorders, and neuropsychiatric conditions. In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Satzer leads a research group investigating brain mapping and neuromodulation in people with epilepsy. He has published at length on minimally invasive epilepsy surgery and the biophysics of brain stimulation. He is an investigator on a multicenter trial implementing an intracortical sensorimotor brain-computer interface for restoration of upper extremity dysfunction.
