    Jonas Widmer, PhD PD

    PD Dr. sc. ETH Jonas Widmer is Head of the Spine Biomechanics Research Group at Balgrist University Hospital and a Senior Lecturer (Privatdozent) at the University of Zurich. He completed his doctoral studies at ETH Zurich between 2016 and 2020 in the field of experimental and computer-aided biomechanics with a focus on spinal surgery and obtained his habilitation at the Medical Faculty of the University of Zurich in 2024.
    In addition to his academic work, he is active in research and development at 25Segments, contributing to the development of novel spinal implants. He is also a co-founder and part-time Chief Technology Officer of Moving Spine AG, a medical device company specializing in dynamic spinal stabilization.
