Joseph Rajasekaran is a 3rd year medical student at Drexel University College of Medicine pursuing a career in neurological surgery. After completing his undergraduate degree, he worked as an engineer, an experience that continues to influence his interest in the intersection of medicine, technology, and surgical innovation. He is particularly drawn to navigation, robotics, and spinal oncology, where technical precision and thoughtful planning directly impact patient outcomes.
He has participated in multi-institutional research projects focused on spinal tumors, operative workflow, perioperative outcomes, and emerging surgical technologies, gaining experience in study design, data analysis, and manuscript preparation.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys playing pickleball and rooting for Philadelphia sports teams. He also spends time playing piano and electric guitar and is currently in the endless pursuit of tone.
