Ayesha is the Principal Research Fellow at the Spine Computational Outcomes Learning Institute (SCOLI), in the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Pittsburgh. She leads grant-funded translational spine research focused on cervical myelopathy, biomarker discovery, and machine-learning–driven clinical analytics. Her work spans both clinical outcomes research and wet-lab experimentation, with active involvement in study design, execution, and grant development.
She serves as the Undergraduate Intern Program Director and manages a multidisciplinary research team of over 20 lab members, overseeing project execution, mentorship, and day-to-day lab operations. Recognized as an emerging leader in academic neurosurgery, Ayesha combines scientific rigor with operational leadership. Outside of research, she is an accomplished singer and artist, and maintains an active lifestyle with a strong interest in fitness and tennis.
