Tony M. Keaveny, Ph.D., is Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, of Mechanical Engineering and Bioengineering at UC Berkeley. An expert in the effects of aging, disease, and treatment on bone strength, Dr. Keaveny has over 30 years of experience in performing cadaver experiments, finite element analyses, and clinical studies of bones and bone-implant systems. An advocate of clinical translation, Dr. Keaveny founded O.N. Diagnostics and led efforts there to develop Biomechanical Computed Tomography analysis for osteoporosis diagnosis and fracture risk assessment and make it available for clinical use in the United States.
