Jessica Lyons, PA-C is a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant practicing in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist where she provides care for variety of patients primarily degenerative spine with focus on complex spine deformity as well as peripheral nerve pathology.
Originally from Fayetteville North Carolina, she went to undergrad at NC State in Raleigh before moving to Winston-Salem to attend Wake Forest School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program, where she really developed passion for the Neurosurgery specialty after doing an elective rotation at the Alaska Native Hospital in Anchorage Alaska. She began her career in the Neuro ICU and spent 5 years taking care of critically ill patients with variety of cranial and spine pathology, then worked in Neuro IR where she gained valuable experience with diagnostics and interventional spine procedures for 2 years before transitioning to her current role in Neurosurgery at Baptist. She now provides comprehensive perioperative care for patients undergoing elective spine and peripheral nerve surgery seeing patients in clinic and working as first assit in the OR in addition to managing hospital trauma follow up patients with wide range of both cranial and spine traumatic pathology.
Outside of clinical practice, Jessica enjoys traveling, watching college basketball, spending time at the beach, and being with her husband, two young children, and their lovable — but often mischievous — dog, Hank.
