    Rafael de la Garza Ramos, MD

    Rafael De la Garza Ramos, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Neurosurgery and Director of Spine Research at Montefiore Einstein. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Montefiore and fellowship training in complex spine surgery and spinal oncology at Brown University. He leads the Spine Tumor Lab at Montefiore and has authored more than 240 peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses on frailty and surgical outcomes, complication prediction, biomechanics of spinal reconstruction, and cancer health disparities. He is also an associate member of the AO Spine Knowledge Forum Tumor and collaborates on national and international research initiatives in spine oncology.
