Mayo Clinic
Zach Pennington is a fifth year resident in neurological surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. He completed his undergraduate studies in neuroscience at the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, from which he graduated with Highest Honors. He then completed medical school at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he worked under the mentorship of Daniel Sciubba and Nicholas Theodore. He has published over 260 PubMed-indexed manuscripts and over 30 book chapters to date, with research areas of focus being including spinal tumors, spine deformity, and the impact of bone quality on postoperative outcomes in instrumented spine surgery. He has completed an enfolded fellowship focused on minimally invasive spine surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and is currently completing an enfolded fellowship focused on spinal oncology at the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
